"Chartered accountant" is not a US designation. The US equivalent is the CPA, and a US firm shopping for a site is really comparing CPA-specific website platforms, flat-fee builds, do-it-yourself builders and general web agencies. Searching the exact phrase mostly turns up sellers of Indian CA-firm sites (priced in rupees) and a Toronto studio, so the prices below are filtered to what a US firm can act on.
Every figure here is what a vendor or publisher states on its own page. There is no independent US survey of what accounting firms spend on websites, and some vendors' own pages disagree with each other. CPA Site Solutions, for example, shows three different price sets across its pricing page, FAQ and home page. Where that happens, the table gives the pricing page figure and the guide notes the other numbers. Treat every price as something to confirm in writing before you sign.
Read the monthly and one-time prices together. A $90 monthly plan and a $2,000 setup plus $150 a month plan look far apart, but over 36 months they come to $3,240 and $7,400. The cost drivers section works through those totals, along with the fees that don't show up in the headline price, such as domain renewals, setup fees and renewal increases.
